Christmas

Even though sickness overtook my family this Christmas, we still managed to make the best of it. We had to cancel many plans but we needed to take care of ourselves and get well!

Christmas morning around our house...

Then off to open presents at Grandma and Grandpa's house

We enjoyed Christmas lunch and opening more presents at Meem and Babe's house along with David, Aunt Susan and Mel

On my birthday, mom and Chris came in to celebrate Christmas since canceling the trip to see them. We needed to stay home and get Arden well!

Merry Christmas!

Island Birthday Weekend

Ryan and I celebrated our 30th birthday at the Moody Gardens Resort on Galveston Island.

Friday

Friday, we dropped off Arden at Ryan's parents and headed down to settle into our hotel.

Here is the grounds of Moody Gardens. It was huge...

The lobby had a gingerbread mansion made from 25lbs. of gingerbread and 20lbs. of frosting. So pretty!

After checking into the hotel, we walked over to the Aquarium. We saw every kind of sea creature you can imagine. We enjoyed watching the sharks a blind seal follow another as they spiraled through the water.

We walked through the 1 mile Festival of Lights. It was chilly!

Ryan and I had a wonderful dinner at Rudy and Paco's! It is the nicest restaurant and best food in Galveston. It was definitely first class!

Saturday:

Ryan really wanted to check out Schlitterbahn, which is an indoor heated water park. We rode most of the slides, rode in the lazy river, and warmed up in the hot-tub with a swim up bar.

Saturday afternoon, we went ice skating. Ryan was pretty good!

Then we went shopping on the Galveston Strand

Back at Moody Gardens, we watched The Polar Express in 4D

To end the evening, we went to Willy G's on Pier 21

Sunday

We finished off our trip by touring the Rainforest Pyramid. This was my favorite part of the whole trip! It was unbelievable how the animals were all out in the open walking around you! Totally amazing!!

Butterfly Exhibit

This crazy monkey was running up and down the railing right next to us!

A Chocolate Tree!

More crazy monkeys!

Too bad the Texans lost. . .otherwise it would have been a perfect weekend!
